I'm a long-time enthusiast who's recently grown into all-out railfan. My father's sudden and premature exit from this earth in July of 2010 helped me realize life is too short to forego your dreams. So I gave up some selfish habits and indulged a long-time interest with my 7-yr old son. Watching trains has become the common ground our relationship is growing on.

We recently began work on our first model layout togather-a 3x6 N scale table that replicates a local switcher servicing a grain elevator. When we have more space we plan to assimilate the simple table into a larger layout that includes a classification yard and several diverse industries served by a local shortline and a large Class-I, based on the action of north Wichita's industrial center.

Wichita has a large UP yard, a large BNSF yard, a small K&O yard, and another small yard to the southwest of the city which includes a paint and service shop. I plan to make many more photography outings now that I have a place to share the images! Thank you to the creators and maintainers of this wonderful site!
